In 2009 Germain filmed the second instalment in the award winning Wilfred series with director Tony Rogers for Renegade Films and SBS. Wilfred II shot for eight weeks, on Super16mm. In 2009 Germain also filmed the documentary components for the ABC's John Safran's Race Relations. (Germain also filmed the AFI award winning John Safran Vs God.)

2009 saw the theatrical release of Bastardy, an (AFI nominated) feature documentary by Amiel Courtin Wilson. Germain lensed the film component of the project. Bastardy has screened at numerous national and international film festivals.

Also that year the experimental documentary short Cicada, shot by Germain and directed by Amiel Courtin Wilson, was accepted into the Directors Fortnight at the

In 2008 Germain filmed the AFI nominated feature documentary Lionel, which was released theatrically. The film focused on the life and times of Aboriginal world champion boxer Lionel Rose and was directed by Eddie Martin.

The film was photographed on both 16mm and 35mm. Lionel screened at Melbourne Film Festival and won the Silver Palm Award at the Mexico Film Festival 2009.

Germain has had an extensive 'Music Video of The Year' in 2001 for Eskimo Joe's 'Wake Up'. Other awards have included; Best Music Video, St Kilda Film Festival in 2004 for Augie March's 'Little Wonder', and the 2006 Golden Guitar Award for Video Clip Of The Year at the 34th Country Music Awards of Australia for Paul Kelly's 'Song of The Old Rake'.

With Directors Group producer Craig Griffin, the Nice Trees partnership garnered an extensive list of commercial credits, many for regular blue chip clients such as David Jones, ANZ, Jetstar, Seek, CUB, Cadbury, Honda, Holden
